MAYU
The name MAYU comes from the Huarpe (native Indian) word for terroir. Thus representing the uniquie terroir of the Zonda Valley where the vineyards are located. Cellarworld Argentina has identified the Santa Sylvia vineyard in the Zonda Valley of the San Juan Province as a potenital world class vineyard site for red wines. This project is a joint venture between Cellarword and Bodegas Borbore, a traditonal bodega which dates back to 1936 which has been bought and modernized by the Berzenkovich family. The family has a long grape and wine-growing tradition in the region. Combining modern viticultural practices and classic winemaking technizues, they are determinded to make quality red wines that reflect the unique terroir and cultural customs of the region.
